The New York State Police at Cortlandt busted four unlicensed home improvement contractors.Arrested were Theodore R. Cooper, 31, of Nichols, NY, Jack Cooper, 32, of Kingsport, TN, Rodney T. Cooper, 33, of Latham, NY, and Kevin D. Perez, Jr., 30, of Schaghticoke, NY.

All four individuals were charged with the Class "A" Misdemeanor of Operating as an Unlicensed Home Improvement Contractor, in violation of Westchester County Law.

State Police were contacted by homeowners in the Cortlandt Manor section of the Town of Cortlandt after believing that they had been scammed by these men following driveway sealing work that they had performed. A Trooper took them into custody.

All four were released after each posting $500 bail and ordered to appear in the Town of Cortlandt Court on April 4 at 9:00 a.m. After being released on these charges, Perez was then turned over to State Police investigators in Ulster County where he was wanted for another alleged home improvement scam.

Anyone who feels they may have been victimized by these subjects are encouraged to contact the State Police at 914-737-7171. All citizens are also reminded in general to be cognizant when contractors go door-to-door in an attempt to generate business.
