Recently named by the Sports Business Journal as one of the “fastest rising agents” in the National Football League today, JR Rickert serves as President and CEO of National Sports Management, a Niskayuna-based full service sports agency.  JR and his team currently represent more than 75 professional athletes in three sports, football, baseball and basketball.

 

JR’s experience as an agent stems from the guidance and mentorship of nationally-renowned agent Peter Schaffer, and his Denver, Colorado-based firm All-Pro Sports and Entertainment.

 

Since founding National Sports Management in 2002, JR has negotiated more than $130 million in contracts for players.  In 2009, JR was honored by the Capital District Business Review with its prestigious “40 Under 40” award.

Ray joined National Sports Management in 2006, after collaborating with JR and several of his clients on a very successful fundraiser for their sons’ pre-school in Niskayuna.

 

Ray currently serves as Director of East Coast Operations, where he leads the marketing, endorsements, public relations, and charitable efforts for the firm and its players.  He also coordinates client recruitment, primarily focused on college athletes, and serves as main liaison for several clients.

 

Ray has more than 20 years experience in public relations, marketing, and fund raising, both in the public and private sectors.
