PMS asked new Wisconsin coach Gary Andersen about leaving Utah State and how he told his players: "The hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. The problem was when we were done with the game and I told those kids I wasn’t interested in those other jobs and I was not pursuing a job at all, and that was 100% the truth. But when we left the Bowl game, the opportunity came and the way I had to communicate with them was that I didn’t want to email them all, I didn’t want them to hear it through the grape vine. And Coach Alvarez was very understanding and allowed me the opportunity; I told him I wanted to call the kids. So I started dialing the phone at 7:00 at night and 106 phone calls later I was able to communicate with each one of those kids. It was hard, it was very emotional, 106 times. But I appreciate their understanding with me and I don’t expect them to accept it, I’m just asking them to support me as I move forward."
