RED SOX BROADCASTS FINALLY EXPAND INTO THE CAPITAL REGION

FOX Sports 980 and the Red Sox Radio Network announce a broadcast deal to air Boston games beginning in 2012

Fox Sports 980 and the Red Sox Radio Network have entered into a partnership to broadcast Boston games to fans in the Capital Region starting in 2012. The deal runs for three years, guaranteeing the Red Sox Nation can enjoy games locally on the radio through the 2014 season.

"We are excited about the addition of the Red Sox to our super roster of play-by-play programming on FOX Sports 980," said Kristen Delaney, V.P./Regional Market Manager with Clear Channel Albany. "With the 100th anniversary of Fenway Park this season and the fresh start with Bobby Valentine as skipper, there's no better time to bring the tradition of the Red Sox closer to fans in the Capital Region".

All spring training, regular season and post-season games are included in the agreement. The Red Sox will christen a new spring training facility in Ft. Myers, Florida, in March. Boston opens the regular season Thursday, April 5, against the American League Central Champion Detroit Tigers, and AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander. The first home stand for the Red Sox begins on Friday, April 13, against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Fox Sports 980 reigns as the Capital Region's home for premiere sports talk, featuring Big Board Sports with Rodger Wyland, Jim Rome, and Dan Patrick, and top play-by-play programming from the NFL, NCAA and Major League Baseball. Fox Sports 980 is also where fans of UAlbany Football and Basketball come to hear their Great Danes play!
